Our client is a specialist in large scale transmission infrastructure development, backed by one of the industries leading energy investment firms, with a combined experience of spearheading over $11 billion of transmission projects, integrating 14 GW.
They are looking to add a new Director of Development based in San Francisco after securing a number of critical projects across California. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for managing all phases of project development, leading project teams, and driving commercialization strategies.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing transmission projects from early-stage development through construction, ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget including engineering design, land acquisition, permitting, interconnection, procurement, regulatory compliance, scheduling, and project controls.
- Leading project teams, coordinate tasks with subject matter experts, and negotiate agreements with consultants and vendors to drive project success
- Supporting project permitting requirements, negotiate and obtain the necessary development permits including relevant environmental, local, state, and federal permits
- Collaborating with the CAISO, regulatory agencies, and key stakeholders to foster strong relationships and support project initiatives
Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years of increasingly responsible experience in energy project development, complex project management, engineering, or comparable experienceStrong critical thinking skills and the ability to analyze and resolve technical and complex issues quicklyStrong time management and organizational skills to effectively prioritize multiple projects and perform under tight deadlinesWork effectively across internal and external teams and build collaboration with customers and consultantsExcellent written and oral communications skillsAbility to travel ~25% of working daysSan Francisco location is a must
