Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Director, Marketing to serve as a critical leader in the launch of a groundbreaking therapy for narcolepsy based on orexin-2 receptor agonism—a mechanism poised to redefine the treatment landscape.
This role offers a rare opportunity to lead the commercial strategy and execution for a transformative, late-stage neuroscience asset during its most pivotal phase : the path to launch. You will be responsible for shaping and executing all pre-commercial marketing activities and assume full accountability for delivering strategic and tactical launch milestones. In parallel, you will play a lead role in building and mentoring a world-class marketing team from the ground up.

Responsibilities
- Launch Strategy & Execution : Serve as the marketing lead for the narcolepsy asset, responsible for strategic planning, tactical execution, and cross-functional alignment leading up to launch
- Provide Commercial input into key cross-functional strategies, including clinical development, label development, brand forecasting, and KOL development planning as we prepare the product, market and organization for launch
- Drive development of brand positioning, messaging, and overall go-to-market strategy, in collaboration with internal and external partners
- Lead the creation and execution of pre-launch and unbranded disease education campaigns targeting HCPs and patients
- Team Leadership & Organizational Build-Out : Recruit, develop, and manage the early marketing team, building scalable capabilities across HCP, patient, and digital channels
- Establish strong partnerships with internal functions (Sales, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Regulatory, Legal, Patient Advocacy) and lead cross-functional workstreams
- Serve as a thought partner to the VP of Marketing and Commercial leadership, contributing to long-term planning and commercial model design
- Customer Insights & Brand Development : Own the development of robust, insight-driven HCP and patient journeys
- Partner with the MRCI (Market Research, Competitive Intelligence) department to drive the market research plan and translate research and analytics into clear insights and actionable strategies
- Identify and select the agency of record and other key vendors and lead the development of branded and unbranded content
- Operational Excellence & Governance : Manage brand budget and ensure on-time, compliant delivery of marketing initiatives
- Partner with Legal, Regulatory, and Medical to develop efficient and scalable review processes
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred12-+ years of pharmaceutical / biotech commercial experience, with 5+ years in U.S. marketing, including pre-launch and launch leadershipProven track record of driving strategy and execution for specialty or rare disease products is requiredStrong leadership experience, including team-building, mentoring, and cross-functional collaborationDeep understanding of the U.S. healthcare ecosystem, including access / reimbursement, field engagement, and regulatory environmentDemonstrated experience managing agencies, vendors, and budgets to deliver on brand prioritiesExcellent communication, influence, and presentation skills with executive presencePreferred Qualifications
Experience in CNS, sleep medicine, or rare neurological diseases strongly preferredPrior experience launching a first-in-class mechanism or establishing a new treatment categoryExposure to start-up or emerging biotech environments with comfort navigating ambiguity and building infrastructureFamiliarity with orexin biology or narcolepsy patient and HCP dynamics is a plusPassion for improving the lives of patients with serious, underserved conditionsWhat We Offer
