• Contract Duration : 20 weeks (Start : 11 / 3 / 2025 – End : 3 / 21 / 2026)\n
• Shift : Day shifts, Monday–Friday, 7 : 30 AM–6 : 00 PM\n
• Shift Length : 10 hours\n
• Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week\n
• On-Call : Every 3rd weekend and 4–8 additional weekdays per month\n
• Estimated Weekly Salary : $2620–$2690\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or compact state (Illinois nursing jobs)\n
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in cardiac stepdown, telemetry, or acute care nursing\n
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred\n
• Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required\n\nCardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities\n
• Deliver comprehensive nursing care in the cardiac stepdown unit, following clinical protocols and best practices\n
• Implement nursing procedures and theories for cardiac and pulmonary patient care\n
• Conduct initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans\n
• Administer medications, monitor patient responses, and document care using electronic medical records (EMR)\n
• Prepare patients for cardiac procedures, manage pain, perform IV venipuncture, blood administration, and monitor laboratory results\n
• Evaluate patient progress, modify care plans as needed, and ensure quality patient outcomes\n
• Delegate nursing tasks appropriately, provide follow-up, and maintain professional communication with the healthcare team\n
• Participate in conflict management, offer constructive feedback, and support a positive work environment\n
