Responsibilities

  • Audit clinical documentation for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with guidelines
  • Collaborate with physicians and staff to enhance documentation practices and address improvement opportunities
  • Monitor and analyze the quality and performance of the Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) program
  • Administer training sessions for new staff and provide ongoing education to the CDI team
  • Assist with third-party payor denials and other related projects

    • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an acute care setting
  • At least 18 months of experience in Clinical Documentation Improvement / Integrity (CDI)
  • 5 or more years of coding experience in inpatient and / or outpatient ICD-10 CM / PCS
  • Current RN license in Kansas or equivalent certification for foreign medical graduates

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • CDI certification of CCDS and / or CDIP
