Director, Compliance Privacy Advisor

The Capital One Privacy Compliance & Risk team is seeking a Director with a passion for mitigating privacy risk at a tech-focused financial institution. The Director will join us to perform key privacy compliance activities on the second line of defense and will help manage privacy risk under applicable federal, state, and international privacy laws and regulations.

The Compliance Privacy Director performs a key risk management role to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state Privacy laws and regulations and a growing portfolio of international Privacy laws and regulations. The Compliance Privacy Director will apply risk, process management, and analytical skills to drive action to support privacy risk objectives. A successful Compliance Privacy Director is a highly motivated, forward-thinking self-starter who takes ownership, can work autonomously, is quick to adapt, and a committed team player.

Responsibilities :

• Actively follow privacy trends, including the development of new privacy laws and emerging privacy risks domestically and internationally
• Maintain subject matter expertise of applicable privacy international and domestic laws and regulations
• Provide advice and effective challenge to the business and to management on the company's compliance processes, procedures, and systems supporting the privacy compliance program
• Advise business lines on the application of privacy requirements to business initiatives and changes, the development of controls and monitoring, remediation / corrective action of compliance breakdowns, and changes in law or regulation
• Prepare management reporting on privacy compliance activities
• Consult with legal counsel and other subject matter experts as necessary to address privacy compliance matters
• Travel to various Capital One locations as necessary

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA : $200,100 - $228,400 for Director, Compliance

New York, NY : $218,300 - $249,100 for Director, Compliance

Richmond, VA : $181,800 - $207,500 for Director, Compliance

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and / or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
