Business Development Manager
Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. is seeking a business development manager to work out of our Hoschton, GA office. This person will be traveling throughout GA and surrounding states.
Essential duties and responsibilities include :
- Actively promoting and strengthening our core values and culture of mission first, people always through everyday actions and decisions.
- Having direct contact with people of all levels, both internally and externally, and working with customers' procurement and engineering groups.
- Being responsive to the customers' needs and following through on all aspects of request, both written and verbal.
- Working closely with the business unit managers when responding to a request for proposal (RFP) to inform them of market conditions, pricing issues, and the current competition on the program.
- Making presentations to various groups within the customer's organization when needed.
- Acting as the lead person on preparing the written proposal in response to customer's RFP, coordinating all information from the different disciplines and arranging the formal response.
- Attending trade shows along with different conferences, both educational and customer oriented.
- Identifying potential clients in the target market and completing appropriate research on the prospective client's business and equipment needs.
- Developing relationships with prospective clients, while maintaining existing client relationships.
- Partnering with sales teams to create contract-winning proposals for current and prospective clients.
- Collaborating with design and production teams to ensure contracted product specifications are executed on-time and as agreed.
- Becoming a subject matter expert on our business products, processes, and operations, and remaining up-to-date on industry news.
- Leading through leads provided by the SIC management group.
- Targeting by calling, emailing, and visiting "targets" on a defined basis, weekly, monthly, or quarterly as defined by the SIC management and BD group.
- Developing a new client base within the SIC marketplace.
- Keeping good records within the approved database, contacts, projects, and opportunities.
- Actively knowing your area, visiting sites, and gathering data about new projects available for SIC.
- Continuing to visit the current client base, ensuring SIC keeps a strong hold on the work already established.
Qualifications include :
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.Demonstrated achievement in B2B sales.Previous crane sales / business development.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation of group presentations.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access and industry-specific analysis software.Basic understanding of the industry, with the ability to become a subject matter expert on the job.Innovation and problem-solving skills that include the ability to develop and propose equipment-based solutions for clients.Strong interpersonal communication, attention to detail, organization, and follow-up skills.Travel 40% -75% working the leads, targets, and current customer base.Equal Opportunity Employer.
