Role Overview :
This role serves as a Contract Specialist for an assigned area within the Family and Social Services Administration and is responsible for directing activities concerned with contracts for purchase of materials, products, or services. You will ensure compliance with State procurement laws and procedures to develop contracts using a Request for Contract Preparation (RCP) supported by a Scope of Work and budget. Your role will document vendor compliance with State requirements, manage the contract process from creation to the execution and distribution of the completed, approved contract. This role will interface with FSSA program managers concerning their vendor contracts and to provide education about the contracting process and occasionally with contractors to obtain required documents and provide updates regarding the progress of their contracts.
The ideal candidate will display a strong degree of discretion, professionalism, a high quality of customer service, and will have an extensive knowledge of FSSA, state procurement, and contracting procedures, policies, and regulations.
Salary Statement :
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $53,222.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours which may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and / or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.
What You'll Need for Success :
The ideal candidate in this role should minimally have either
a Master's Degree with 1+ years of experience, or
a Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years of experience, or
a Associate's Degree with 5+ years of experience, or
at least 7+ years of experience applying the below, outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role.
