Responsibilities
Plan, organize, develop, and direct general operating maintenance, repair, and housekeeping of the physical plant interior and exterior of the community.Oversee the general operations of the maintenance department and housekeeping department to ensure the property is maintained in a safe, clean, and comfortable manner in accordance with property policies and procedures.Demonstrate mechanical ability and self‑teaching capability to work on equipment such as washer / extractors, dryers, refrigeration and heating units, ice machines, minor plumbing, minor electrical difficulties, carpentry and painting.Electrical duties : troubleshoot, identify problems, and obtain materials to repair electrical difficulties including wall switches, lighting, cover plates, receptacles, loose wiring, resident call systems, control devices, laundry, and kitchen equipment.Structural duties : plan, order, and install cabinets, perform carpentry duties such as repairing or replacing sheetrock, plywood, and structural materials.Painting duties : plan, order, and perform painting requirements interior and exterior of the entire complex. Dispose of materials in compliance with local, state, and federal EPA guidelines.Plumbing duties : plan, order, and perform minor plumbing problems including repairing faucets, showers, drains, and other plumbing issues.Conduct daily inspection of the property’s outside grounds. Immediately correct any needed items to assure the property is always tour‑ready.Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.Prefer two (2) years experience in the building industry, maintenance and / or housekeeping handling the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, and structural matters. Knowledge of building construction is helpful.Prefer one (1) year of experience supervising and managing employees.Able to safely operate a wide variety of equipment and tools.Knowledge of and / or ability to learn the theory and practice of assisted living and dementia care.Able to work with seniors and patiently interact with cognitively impaired individuals.Able to be flexible, adapt and respond to change, make decisions in stressful situations, and prioritize tasks and projects.Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB tests.May be required to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and wear face coverings and other PPE to prevent the spread of COVID‑19 or other communicable diseases per regulatory guidelines.Equal Opportunity Employer
