TheCredentialed Veterinary Technician performs a critical role inproviding high quality care for patients. Credentialed Techniciansare key partners to the veterinarians providing the appropriatesupport to ensure each client interaction and procedure is seamlessand successful.
Credentialed Technicians apply their professionalskills in anesthesia surgery dentistry laboratory testing patientnursing and client education.

EssentialResponsibilities
- Assistveterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgeryand other tasks asneeded.
- Assistveterinarians in outpatient exams by taking histories vital signsand weights as well as providing clienteducation.
- Preparepatients for surgery and monitor vital signs of the patient duringsurgery.
- Obtainblood stool and other samples; perform inhospital laboratorytesting and prepare specimens for outsidelaboratories.
- Takedevelop and maintain radiographs following proper safetyprocedures.
- Providebasic animal handling and restrain animals duringexams.
- Administerand monitor medications anesthesia vaccines and treatments at thediscretion of theveterinarian.
- Cleanand straighten exam rooms treatment and lab areas; restock examrooms with supplies. Assist other team members to keep the publicareas of the practice clean;
clean and maintain all medicalequipment.
- Demonstratewarmth courtesy and professionalism in all interactions withclients; exercise compassion and care in all interactions withpatients.
- Communicatewith veterinarians and practice team members including clientdiscussions patient plans client concernsetc.
- Anyother duties asassigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Statelicense to work as a certified / licensed / registered veterinarytechnician in state of desiredemployment
- Abilityto lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability tolift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds withassistance
- PracticeOSHA safety techniques including properPPE
- Basiccomputer skills familiarity with MS office applicationsetc.
- Basicmath and ability to calculate medicationdosages
- Strongcommunication skills to ensure patientsafety
