Job description

American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Florisssant, Missouri.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift role requiring comfort with pediatric and adult populations and a MO or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Emergency Department of an acute care hospital with 233 staffed beds
  • Care for both pediatric and adult patients
  • Staff-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4
  • Night shift schedule (3x12s, 19 : 00-07 : 30)
  • Every third weekend required
  • No floating required outside scope of assignment
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Glucostabilizer experience needed
  • Utilizes Epic EMR; Epic experience is required
  • Navy scrubs required
  • Responsibilities include providing emergency care and stabilization for pediatric and adult patients
  • Completion of modules prior to start is required
  • Facial hair must allow for fit testing or candidate will be expected to shave
  • No medical marijuana cards accepted
  • Return travelers must wait 1 year after previous permanent employment to be eligible
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Maximum of 7 days requested time off allowed per 13-week contract, and no time off permitted in the first week
  • Travelers may remain for 18 months, requiring a 3-month break before returning
  • Free parking available

    • Requirements

  • Active MO or compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
  • Current certifications required : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
  • Minimum 1 year of recent ED RN experience
  • Must be comfortable caring for both pediatric and adult patients
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • No previous permanent employment within the health system in the past year
