Job Summary
The Structural Project Engineer will assist teams with the planning and daily execution of the construction project. The Project Engineer acts as the link between office management, field activities, accounting, and project administration. Responsibilities include pre-construction, estimating, material sourcing, procurement, managing submittal processes, coordinating timely delivery of materials, maintaining logs, schedules, budgets, and ensuring project safety and coordination of materials.
Must be a flexible, adaptable team player with strong communication, task management, and client service skills.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Review concrete and steel drawings for compliance with standards and codes.
- Propose design modifications as needed.
- Coordinate design with construction teams.
- Perform field inspections for quality assurance.
- Participate in procurement processes, including outreach and bid management.
- Attend and document OAC meetings.
- Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project schedules.
- Support permit processes.
- Manage document control for plans, drawings, and permits.
- Follow safety policies and wear proper safety equipment.
Education and Experience
PE Certification (not responsible for stamping plans).Bachelor's in structural engineering or equivalent.Preferred experience in construction, especially multifamily projects.Minimum 5+ years in concrete and steel design.Field inspection experience.Proficiency with construction and business software.OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification or ability to obtain.Authorized to work in the U.S., with a valid driver's license.Skills / Abilities
Ability to use construction applications on various devices.Ability to interpret construction documents and schedules.Knowledge of local construction industry and subcontractors.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.Understanding of permit, approval, and inspection processes.Excellent communication skills.Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safe work practices.Physical Requirements
Able to stand, walk, and work on-site for extended periods.Capable of lifting 50 pounds.Able to climb ladders and work in confined spaces.Willing to work in various environmental conditions.Additional Details
