Note : Work hours for this position will be from 1 : 30 p.m. to 10 : 00 p.m., Monday through Friday. May need to work occasional shifts outside of the regular shift to meet the needs of the department. Successful candidate must be able to follow verbal communications and be able to read and comprehend written directions. Also, must be able to interpret written directives, policies, and memos. An essential function of this position requires the individual to exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and / or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and / or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. It also requires constant or frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, and depth perception. You must be able to perform this level of physical exertion and essential functions in order to be considered for this position.

This full-time position is located in the Facilities Department at Community College of Aurora and provides ongoing and preventative maintenance for buildings and grounds, ensuring efficient, quality service for staff, faculty and student body. The position will operate a variety of equipment and tools to maintain campus buildings and will cross between multiple building trades. Specific duties include light carpentry, painting, drywall repair, hanging bulletin boards, whiteboards and pictures. Assist maintenance staff with HVAC maintenance (filter changes, coil cleaning, greasing motors and changing belts). Make minor adjustments to the building automation system as directed. Assist with electrical maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing plumbing systems. Assemble new office furniture and move furniture throughout the college as requested. Assist with large event set-ups and other duties as assigned. Assist with snow removal and sweeping entry ways. Utilize a computer to complete timesheets and leave requests, read and respond to email, etc. Use Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word) to manage calendar / email / voice mail and create correspondence. Operate state vehicles. Must be a team player.

Minimum Qualifications
