Job Summary :
The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of the company to patients, providing quality specimen collection services in a professional, compassionate manner. The PSR II draws high-quality blood samples, prepares specimens for testing, and ensures all activities comply with established protocols . This role requires strong customer service , attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform daily specimen collection and processing duties accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
Maintain a safe and professional work environment and follow all health and safety protocols.
Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection with confidence and accuracy.
Verify patient identification and ensure proper labeling of all specimens in the patient’s presence.
Maintain required records, documentation, and confidentiality of patient information.
Demonstrate organizational commitment and uphold a positive image with patients, clients, and the public.
Support business needs by traveling to other Patient Service Centers or in-office phlebotomy locations when required.
Adhere to company policies, dress code, and Everyday Excellence Guiding Principles.
Required Experience :
Three (3) years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Ability to provide error-free, high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent phlebotomy skills with demonstrated customer service experience.
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage.
Nice-to-Have Experience :
Minimum two years in a Patient Service Center environment.
Prior experience in customer-facing or retail environments.
Data entry or keyboarding proficiency.
Ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt quickly to changes.
Education :
High school diploma or equivalent – required.
Medical assistant or paramedic training – preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
