Head of Technology

Overstory Health, Inc. seeks a Head of Technology for its Boston, MA location (hybrid).

Duties

Responsible for overseeing the technology function of a behavioral health start‑up.

Set the technology vision for the organization.

Responsible for setting up a variety of systems with a primary focus on systems that support intensive outpatient (IOP) and partial hospitalization (PHP) offerings for high‑risk behavioral health populations.

Identify, select, and implement the electronic health record.

Set up the back‑end data infrastructure.

Act as security and privacy officer, and determine IT policy for the organization.

Implement the organization’s Electronic Medical Record (EMR) platform, develop a scalable tech stack roadmap, and ensure seamless virtual care delivery.

Work closely with clinical, operational, and executive teams to define product requirements, set technology milestones, and manage cross‑functional projects.

Collaborate with advisors, evaluate and integrate critical tools such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems to drive business development and track patient outreach.

Oversee vendor partnerships, coordinate data workflows, and maintain compliance with healthcare standards.

Requirements

Must possess a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field plus 5 years of healthcare‑related software development experience.

Must have at least 2 years of senior‑level management experience.

Professional experience must include managing strategic architecture, development, and implementation of scalable, secure cloud‑based healthcare platforms and automated data processing solutions in compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and HITRUST security frameworks.

Orchestrating Agile transformations and implementing Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI / CD) pipelines.

Utilizing GitHub Actions, Buildkite, Jenkins, AWS automation, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Must have knowledge of interoperability standards and data protocols for healthcare systems.

May telecommute but must be able to report to the Boston, MA office at least 2 days per week.

Salary is $238,285 per year to $250,000 per year; full time.
