Essential Job Duties :

• Answer telephone; Receive and enter requests from internal and external parties into Laboratory Information System
• Contacts clients for problem resolution
• Perform a variety of routine administrative tasks as it relates to pathology cases
• Troubleshoot and implement case corrections in Laboratory Information System
• Handle new account / client set up
• Maintain competency through web-based Standard Operating Procedure updates as well as educational modules
• Use automated lab equipment properly according to lab procedures and manufacturer's instructions
• Adheres to all PBM Safety policies and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies
• Learn and apply computer related applications and programs, including using electronic keyboards and other peripheral devices
• Protects confidentiality of patient information and results at all times
• Ensure work area has proper coverage at all times during the work shift, ie coverage for meal and / or rest periods
• Immediately notifies supervisory personnel of malfunctioning instrumentation
• Handle infectious biological specimens, caustics, toxic chemicals and / or irritants appropriately and safely
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested
