As a Secure Detention RN at Berkshire, you will be responsible for providing an initial health assessment of youth entering the facility including but not limited to health history, physical exams and laboratory tests and provides treatment of emergency and / or serious acute health conditions. The goal of the position is to provide nursing services, treatment, and continuity of care for all residents in conjunction with other practitioners to ensure health needs are addressed in a timely manner.

Job Requirements

• Minimum Associates Degree in Nursing; required.
• Current New York State Registered Nurse license and CPR / First Aid certification.
• Minimum 1 - 3 years of experience. Experience with at-risk youth preferred.
• Case Management experience is a plus.
• Flexible schedule and ability to provide weekend, holiday and on-call coverage.
• Must have current, valid driver's license per Agency guidelines. Travel required.
• Ability to work with a culturally and economically diverse population.
• Skills : ability to exercise sound judgment and follow detailed oral or written instructions; demonstrated oral and written communication skills; demonstrated knowledge of nursing techniques, procedures, practices, and theory, of medical terminology, infection control measures and safety principles.
• 19 hours weekly for per diem
