Registered Nurse - Labor/Delivery Manager

Location: Las Vegas, NV Facility: 336-Bed Acute Care Hospital (with Level III NICU & ICU)

Virtus Healthcare Staffing seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse Manager for the Labor and Delivery unit to join our partner, a 336-bed acute care facility with a Level III NICU and ICU located in Las Vegas, NV. Position Summary:

The Labor and Delivery Manager is responsible for the 24-hour management of the assigned unit(s), ensuring patient care meets the highest standards of care. This leadership role involves overseeing daily operations, managing staff, ensuring quality outcomes, managing budgets, and collaborating with the healthcare team to provide exceptional care appropriate to the age of the patients served.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the 24/7 operations of the Labor and Delivery unit(s).
• Assess, plan, supervise, and evaluate the nursing care delivered to patients.
• Ensure patient care aligns with the standard of care, the medical plan of care, and hospital policies.
• Manage staffing levels and schedules to ensure appropriate coverage and skill mix.
• Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment for the nursing team.
• Participate in budget management and resource allocation for the unit.
• Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with physicians, other department managers, and staff to ensure effective patient care coordination.
• Demonstrate leadership skills and knowledge appropriate for managing care in L&D and related maternal/child areas.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing (Required).
• Experience: Minimum two (2) years of clinical nursing experience (Required); Minimum one (1) to two (2) years of progressive nursing management experience (Required). (Labor & Delivery experience strongly preferred) .
• License: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Nevada (Required).
• Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications (Required).
• Skills: Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide/manage care appropriate to the age of patients served in L&D/Maternal Child units (Required).
