Summary
The General Manager will be the operational and cultural leader of Austin Sports Club. This person will oversee all day-to-day operations, ensure exceptional guest experiences, drive financial performance, and build a high-caliber team that reflects the ethos of the brand. The GM will be responsible for establishing systems, developing staff, maintaining standards, and delivering an elevated yet welcoming atmosphere for every guest who steps through our doors.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Hospitality
- Deliver a hospitality experience that matches the elevated, story-driven ambiance of Austin Sports Club.
- Maintain a polished, warm, and intuitive service culture at all touchpoints.
- Manage guest relations, including VIPs, corporate accounts, and regular clientele.
- Resolve guest concerns with tact, speed, and ownership.
Operations & Execution
Oversee all FOH operations, including service flow, floor management, reservations, and event coordination.Partner closely with BOH leadership to ensure seamless communication and exceptional culinary execution.Manage opening and closing procedures, cleanliness standards, and brand-defining ambiance and music.Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and TABC regulations.Ensure that every detail—from lighting levels to plate presentation—reinforces the club’s elevated environment.Leadership & Team Development
Recruit, hire, train, and lead a team of high-performing hospitality professionals.Build a culture rooted in teamwork, accountability, and pride in the guest experience.Conduct ongoing training, performance evaluations, and coaching.Foster an environment where staff feel supported, empowered, and aligned with the brand’s vision.Financial Performance
Manage P&Ls, budgeting, labor forecasting, and cost controls.Monitor revenue streams including dining, bar, private events, and VIP activations.Track inventory, beverage costs, and purchasing programs to safeguard margins.Partner with ownership on financial reporting, strategy, and long-term planning.Brand Standards & Experience Design
Uphold the sensory experience of Austin Sports Club—from lighting, sound, scent, and décor to staff presentation and menu storytelling.Ensure the environment consistently reflects the refined, sports-centric ambiance described in our brand narrative.Collaborate with marketing / promotions on brand events, game-day activations, and strategic programming.Community & Partnerships
Engage with local organizations, corporate partners, and community leaders.Represent the brand at key industry events and networking opportunities.Build guest loyalty through relationship cultivation and exceptional hospitality.fQualifications
4+ years of General Manager or Assistant General Manager experience in upscale or high-volume hospitality environments.Proven history of building and leading high-performing teams.Strong understanding of financial management, cost controls, and P&L oversight.Exceptional communication, conflict resolution, and guest-service skills.Ability to multitask, stay calm under pressure, and maintain the brand’s polished demeanor.Passion for elevated dining, craft beverages, and sports culture.Must be available nights, weekends, holidays, and major sporting events.Compensation & Benefits
