Position Description : The TRIP Manager will lead a diverse team of professionals supporting the Defense Information System Agency.

The TRIP operations team provides 24 x 7 support, and is responsible for overall incident management, including restoral and reporting of the Optical Transport, IP, and legacy networks.

The TRIP Operations Manager works closely with functional team managers and senior Network Operations Center (NOC) management to establish cross functional processes and procedures and establish standard policies and procedures which are ITIL based and reflect the overall mission of the GSM-O II contract.

Responsibilities :

Assists senior Operations and Maintenance Manager(s) to oversee and direct all aspects of network operations within the Operations and Maintenance Service Delivery Thread.

Directly manage contractor and sub-contract support staff. Coordinate subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition / disciplinary actions.

Identification and management of issues, risks, and dependencies.

Status reporting to the Service Delivery Manager and customer as required.

Creating, documenting, and executing action plans. Work with the customer and external stakeholders to accomplish program goals in which we are dependent on them completing tasks.

Develop and implement technical training plans to support the core operations and future technologies

Coordinate directly with secondary sites (Hill AFB) Operations Manager to ensure continuity of operations between both sites

Ensure all Incidents are addressed and worked to ensure timely restoration of services

Work directly with other NOC components to ensure support and coordination is occurring throughout all shifts

Manages aspects of multiple operations tasks simultaneously.

Some travel may be required.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with 8+ years of leadership experience; additional years of Network Management experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

Currently possess an active Secret security clearance and be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

Ability to work a flexible work schedule.

Required Skills :

Experience supervising a diverse team

Prior Network Operations Leadership experience.

Excellent Written and oral communication skills are required with a demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Candidate must possess excellent leadership, organization, communication and time management skills.

Preferred Skills :

DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE, or equivalent).

Soft Skills :

Organizational Skills : Can plan and prioritize work. Follows tasks to their logical conclusion and makes sure that everything has been done to the right standard. Good attention to detail.

Team Work : Able to enthuse and maintain project interest. Comfortable working both individually and as part of a team. Prepared to challenge ideas within a group in a constructive way.

Communications : Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently to team members and clients, verbally and in writing. Able to present ideas in a variety of ways depending upon audience and context.

Excellent active listening skills.

Quantitative Management : Ability to determine process measures and track to determine process effectiveness and efficiency.

Problem Solving : Ability to analyze problems and determine root cause, generating alternatives, evaluating and selecting alternatives and implementing solutions.

Results oriented : Able to drive things forward regardless of personal interest in the task.
