Product Development Intern

Description

Overview :

Assist with developing and improving manufactured products by studying product and manufacturing methods. Improving process efficiency throughout the entire manufacturing facility.

The key aspects of the job include project management, selection and installation of equipment, new product development, and process improvements.

Internship Start Date : May 13, 2024

You will be trained on the Operations floor, working alongside team members in our manufacturing, distribution and customer service teams in order to see first-hand the scope of our organization.

After your training, you will be moved into your department and be assigned a Supervisor. Supervisors will direct your day to day activities and be your key contact for non-daily activities and overall guidance.

You will be exposed to multiple projects and be issued daily tasks to complete towards those projects.

Internship End Date : August 2, 2024

We will conduct an Exit Interview and get final feedback from Interns on the program.

Responsibilities :

Assists in product research and concept development

Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, reviewing production schedules and estimating future requirements

Acquires knowledge of procedures, work instructions, and associated forms as required

Works in conjunction with manufacturing personnel to ensure quality of parts produced

Assists with continuous improvement projects that will directly impact safety, quality and cost for company

Qualifications :

Students currently enrolled in Product Design, Industrial Design or related field preferred

Competency in MS Office

CAD experience preferred

Accuracy and attention to detail

Ability to work in a team environment

Requires proactive problem solving and troubleshooting skills

Solid foundation in superior safety and quality practice

Goals of Internship :

Know what skills you will need post-graduation (software programs / communication methods)

Develop the skills needed for the internship and post-graduation

Hone the skills you already have to succeed

Be a part of Department meetings

Learn about other business functions and how departments collaborate

Complete a 10-week project and present to the Leadership team and other interns

Additional Information :

Pay Schedule : Semi-monthly on 15th and last day of the month
