Canacre’s clients include developers, large scale service providers, and government entities that are involved in the planning and development of energy projects, rights of way, resources, and infrastructure across Canada and the United States.

Canacre works on large-scale wind and solar power projects, high-voltage transmission lines, pipeline projects, municipal roads projects, and groupings of cellular towers and rooftop antennas.

Canacre is seeking a Land Specialist to support our utility clients. The successful candidate will review land rights on behalf of our clients and make recommendations for addressing encroachments.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in transmission and power utility projects, construction, and land negotiations.

This is an in-office position in Augusta, Maine.

In addition, your role will be to :

  • Work with project team to review land rights within transmission corridors.
  • Respond to customer right of way requests and obtain support from client and project team.
  • Review and respond to encroachment requests, produce reporting with recommendations.
  • Support mapping and visualization requests when discussing land rights, using ArcGIS and / or Google Earth.
  • Provide excellent customer service, show agility in addressing tasks.
  • Build strong relationships with client and customer teams.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree and / or post-secondary education, ideally in land acquisition, real estate, GIS, or a business-related discipline.
  • Experience in Land acquisition and negotiation.
  • Experience acquiring and reviewing title documents.
  • Experience in Transmission and electric utilities.
  • Ability to review plan / profile drawings and review title / ownership.
  • Ability to handle multiple priority items with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of Google Earth Pro.
  • Knowledge of ArcGIS suite of programs.
  • ProjectWise experience an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Licensed Real Estate Agent, SRWA or RWA.
