Salary : What Youll Do
- Facilitate one-on-one and group interventions that promote self-worth, personal safety, boundary setting, and growth
- Support clients in developing recovery plans, Psychiatric Advance Directives (PADs), and Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAPs)
- Enhance clients coping, communication, and self-management skills
- Assist clients in system navigation, including advocacy, appointments, and benefit access
- Provide crisis and post-crisis support
- Assist with skill development in daily living, socialization, and symptom management
- Educate clients on available community resources and support re-entry following hospitalization
- Help clients manage appointments with mental health professionals
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams and participate in person-centered planning
- Respond as a first responder for crises on a 24 / 7 / 365 basis
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with agency and Medicaid standards
Who You Are
Lived experience with a mental health or substance use disorderNC Peer Support Specialist CertificationHigh school diploma or GEDStrong interpersonal skills to interact positively with clients and members of the treatment teamStable recovery and self-identification as a person in recoveryValid NC drivers licenseObservational skills to interpret demeanor and spot signs of distress or crisisAbility to work flexible hours and in varied settingsCompassion, resilience, and the ability to build trust with diverse populationsComfort working independently while staying connected to a supportive teamNot a family member of the individual receiving servicesEnjoy the best of both worlds!
