Job Overview

At T-Mobile, Senior Database Administrators are the trusted experts driving the performance and evolution of our data platforms. You’ll lead the charge in configuring, monitoring, and optimizing large-scale Oracle environments that power our business systems nationwide. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in dynamic, high-availability settings and enjoys solving complex challenges, improving automation, and ensuring database reliability and security. As a technical authority, you’ll influence enterprise-level projects, mentor peers, and collaborate across teams to deliver next-generation data solutions that keep T-Mobile at the forefront of innovation.

The Senior Database Administrator is responsible for the configuration, administration, monitoring, performance tuning, replication, backup / restore, and troubleshooting of Oracle database environments in a highly dynamic and mission-critical infrastructure. This role provides advanced technical and operational support for T-Mobile’s business systems, ensuring database security, integrity, and optimal performance across on-premises and cloud environments.

Main Responsibilities

• Administer and support large-scale Oracle database environments across on-premises and AWS infrastructures.
• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Oracle software, ensuring adherence to enterprise standards and compliance requirements.
• Implement and manage Oracle Data Guard and Oracle GoldenGate for high availability, replication, and disaster recovery.
• Perform advanced performance tuning and optimization of database queries, indexes, and schemas for mission-critical workloads.
• Automate deployment, patching, and maintenance processes using Ansible, Terraform, and GitLab CI / CD pipelines.
• Develop and maintain scripts (Bash, Python, PL / SQL) to improve operational efficiency and consistency.
• Configure and monitor database health and performance using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Grafana, and Prometheus.
• Enforce enterprise security and access controls, manage user roles and privileges, and ensure compliance with policies such as SOX and PCI.
• Partner with developers, architects, and infrastructure teams to ensure data integrity, scalability, and system reliability.
• Provide expert-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis for high-impact production issues.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of standards, documentation, and automation frameworks.

Base Pay Range : $100,100 - $180,600Corporate Bonus Target : 15%

Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and / or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
