Job Summary:
Maintains and manages the Trauma and/or Acute Care Surgery (ACS) quality programs. With the overall goal to participate in the redesign of the health care delivery system, and to assure efficient processes, quality clinical care, and patient safety, the Quality Coordinator will coordinate and participate in approved projects that support the Trauma and/or ACS Programs and Strategic Goals. The Coordinator will assist in maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities also include entering, abstracting and analyzing various data reports, identifying opportunities for improvement, assuring the accuracy of data, completion of deficient areas. Performs and supervises data entry into the computer and generates Trauma and/or ACS Registry reports, both standard and customized.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
A minimum of three years of hospital experience is required. Emergency, Critical care or Quality Management experience is preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
Degree in Nursing (Baccalaureate or Graduate) is required. Master's Degree is preferred.
TRAINING DESCRIPTION:
Trauma Outcomes Performance Improvement (TOPIC) course is required within 1 year of hire. TNCC, ATCN, ADKAR training is preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:
Knowledge of hospital and clinic processes, process improvement theory, and medical terminology or accreditation regulations is required. Ability to effectively communicate with physicians and other health care professionals. Experience leading data-driven, Quality Improvement initiatives.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:
Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 3 months of hire. Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRA) certification is preferred. Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.
