Overview
Bowman has an opportunity for a Senior Project Manager, Mechanical Engineering to join our team in Towson, MD.
Apply administrative, technical, and managerial techniques to assigned mechanical design projects to ensure their successful and timely completion within the allocated budget.
Responsibilities
- Leadership and Direction : Receive broad guidance from senior-level management regarding objectives, issues, and execution parameters. Manage people and processes to ensure effective execution and review work produced by staff for quality assurance. Provide mentorship to junior project managers, design engineers, and project engineers.
- Operational and Company Level : Actively market the firms capabilities to establish new clients and strengthen relationships with existing clients. Represent the project team in client communications and resolutions. Coordinate with other internal departments to meet project requirements.
- Do the Work : Design complex mechanical systems in accordance with current code requirements and sound engineering principles. Develop project scope, bids, budgets, and cost estimates; prepare designs, specifications, plans, and reports; monitor budgets and billings; oversee WIP, collections, and related processes. Maintain client relationships and provide technical assistance for design challenges. Collaborate on marketing materials and secure repeat business. Liaise with clients, agencies, subcontractors, and design teams. Manage project changes, scope, and staffing considerations. Produce construction documents and ensure milestone adherence. Attend coordination and design meetings and manage specifications and budgets.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.10+ years of industry-related experience across commercial, government, academic, R&D, multi-family, industrial, and similar projects.Minimum of 5 years of project management experience.Knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT, TraneTrace, and / or eQuest modeling software.EIT and LEED accreditation strongly preferred; Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.Thorough understanding of business / financial principles in a consulting environment and municipal codes and regulations.About Bowman
