  • We focus on the hardest to reach, most vulnerable people :

  • Women, Medical Crisis, Substance Use Disorder, and Older Adults.

  • At Community Forward SF, we believe housing is not only a basic human right—it is the foundation of stability, safety, and dignity.
  • Our mission is to end the cycle of homelessness and uplift those most marginalized by providing holistic, client-centered, and trauma-informed support services in San Francisco.

  • The Landlord Liaison is a critical and compassionate bridge between participants and property owners or managers.
  • This role serves as an additional layer of support for participants, while simultaneously cultivating and maintaining respectful, collaborative relationships with landlords.
  • The Landlord Liaison ensures that both parties—tenant and landlord—feel heard, supported, and guided toward successful tenancy and housing stability.
  • As a neutral and trusted point of contact, the Landlord Liaison centralizes communication, resolves tenancy concerns proactively, and helps preserve the autonomy and dignity of each participant.
  • This role is foundational to fostering a housing culture that values communication, respect, and long-term success for all involved.
  • WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS :

  • The Landlord Liaison is a cornerstone of the ETH program.
  • They play an intricate and indispensable role in the success of every housing placement by ensuring that both landlords and participants are supported throughout the journey.
  • They help prevent evictions, mediate misunderstandings, and build trust with housing providers across the city—all while uplifting the voices of those we serve.
  • This is not just a support position—it's a partnership-building role that contributes directly to our mission to end homelessness and ensure that every participant feels welcomed, respected, and empowered in their new home.   ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  • Develop strong working relationships with landlords, property managers, and participants.
  • Act as a neutral liaison and consistent point of contact to facilitate effective communication and manage expectations on both sides.
  • Be present at every lease signing, introducing the ETH program and issuing business cards as a primary support contact.
  • Clearly communicate the program's role in providing participant support and address landlord concerns with professionalism and empathy.
  • Ensure that each unit is habitable, clean, and move-in ready prior to participant occupancy.
  • Support participants in understanding their tenant responsibilities while protecting their autonomy and confidentiality.
  • Serve as the warm hand-off to the assigned ETH Case Manager after lease-up, ensuring a smooth transition and continuity of care.
  • Centralize and address any concerns regarding nuisance complaints, destruction of property, lack of landlord responsiveness, and unresolved maintenance or habitability issues.
  • Provide guidance and coordination with landlords to ensure timely repairs, compliance with city codes, and consistent upkeep of rental units.
  • Collaborate with case managers to proactively address issues that may jeopardize housing stability.
  • Participate in regular housing team meetings and share relevant updates to maintain clear, transparent communication across departments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all interactions with landlords and participants using internal databases and tracking systems.
  • Help train and educate landlords on trauma-informed, culturally competent engagement strategies when working with participants from vulnerable communities.
