The Children’s Advocacy Center of SW Florida (CAC) is a busy non-profit agency located in Fort Myers serving Lee, Charlotte, Hendry, and Glades Counties. At CAC, we offer abuse determination services for children as well as therapeutic counseling, parenting education, and prevention programs.
CAC is seeking a qualified part-time Community Outreach Educator. The position provides Community trainings in support of the Children's Advocacy Center efforts of raising awareness of child abuse. Work hours may include night / day and weekend flexibility, working up to 10 hours per week.
General Responsibilities (full job description will be provided upon interview) :
- Facilitate community trainings in support of Children’s Advocacy Center of SWFL’s child abuse awareness efforts.
- Build and maintain community partnerships.
- Identify and engage potential training partners or sites.
- Attend community meetings and outreach events as needed in support of agency.
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions, including attendance and evaluation data.
- Stay current on child abuse prevention trends, legislation, and local community needs.
- Maintain knowledge of community resources.
- Travel throughout Lee, Charlotte, Hendry, and Glades Counties to facilitate trainings, network, and attend outreach events.
- This schedule is flexible and will require occasional evenings or weekend work for community trainings or events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education an d / or Work Experience Requirements :
Prior experience in child welfare, social services, education, or a related field, with a solid understanding of child abuse dynamics, mandated reporting, trauma-informed care, and protective factors that support prevention efforts.A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work or a human services-related field is preferred, but not required. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
