ABOUT THE CLIENT

  • My client are a healthcare construction specialist and one of the most succesfull in South Florida.
  • Due to substantial project wins they are currently looking for an experienced Superintendent with Healthcare experience out of their office in West Palm Beach.

ABOUT THE ROLE

On-Site Leadership and Management :

  • Provide overall leadership and direction to all on-site personnel, including subcontractors and craft workers.
  • Manage day-to-day field operations to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to the project schedule.
  • Establish and maintain a safe, clean, and organized construction site in compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
  • Implement and enforce site-specific safety plans and conduct regular safety meetings.
  • Manage site logistics, including material deliveries, storage, and equipment coordination.
  • Set up and maintain temporary site facilities as required.
  • Schedule and Coordination :

  • Work closely with the Project Manager to develop and maintain the project schedule.
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential delays or deviations from the schedule.
  • Coordinate the activities of subcontractors to ensure timely completion of work.
  • Communicate schedule updates and potential impacts to the project team.
  • Implement recovery plans as needed to maintain the project timeline.
  • Quality Control and Compliance :

  • Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with the project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor the quality of workmanship and materials.
  • Enforce compliance with all applicable building codes, healthcare regulations (e.g., AHCA in Florida), and infection control protocols (e.g., ICRA, PCRA).
  • Work closely with quality assurance personnel and address any quality deficiencies promptly.
  • Subcontractor Management :

  • Manage and coordinate the activities of all subcontractors on site.
  • Ensure subcontractors adhere to their scopes of work, schedules, and safety requirements.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and address any issues or conflicts.
  • Review and approve subcontractor invoices in coordination with the Project Manager.
  • Communication and Reporting :

  • Serve as the primary point of contact on site for subcontractors, field personnel, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Project Manager, architects, engineers, and client representatives.
  • Conduct regular on-site progress meetings with subcontractors and the project team.
  • Prepare and submit daily and weekly reports on progress, safety, manpower, and any issues encountered.
  • Document all site activities, including changes, delays, and safety incidents.
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making :

  • Identify and resolve on-site issues and challenges in a timely and effective manner.
  • Make informed decisions related to field operations to maintain project momentum.
  • Escalate complex issues to the Project Manager as necessary.
  • Resource Management :

  • Monitor and manage labor, equipment, and material resources on site to ensure efficient utilization.
  • Track and report on material quantities and usage.
  • Identify and address any resource shortages or needs.
  • Project Closeout :

  • Participate in project closeout activities, including punch lists, final inspections, and commissioning.
  • Ensure all on-site documentation is completed and submitted.
  • ABOUT THE CANDIDATE

  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience in construction project management, with a significant focus on healthcare facility construction (e.g., hospitals, clinics, medical office buildings).
  • Thorough understanding of healthcare construction requirements, including infection control protocols (ICRA / PCRA), medical equipment coordination, and relevant regulations (e.g., FGI Guidelines, AHCA).
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control principles.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to enforce safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Relevant certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour and First Aid / CPR are highly desirable.
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6) is a plus.
