Description :
Travel nursing position for a registered nurse in the coronary care unit.
The nurse will care for critically ill patients requiring advanced monitoring and support.
The nurse will work in a ratio of 1 : 2 with patients.
Weekend availability is required every other weekend.
The position requires knowledge and skills in accessing and managing ports and arterial lines.
The candidate should have experience assisting with the insertion and removal of chest tubes.
Experience with management of ventilated patients and continuous IV sedation is necessary.
Candidates must be proficient in interpreting arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias.
The position also requires management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure.
Additional skills include operating Drager ventilators and managing vasoactive infusions.
The unit provides care for patients with conditions such as STEMI, NSTEMI, and sepsis.
The daily patient census is approximately 13, with critical care and advanced hemodynamic monitoring involved.
Infection prevention and isolation precautions must be strictly adhered to.
The travel nurse may be required to float between like units as needed.
