JOB SUMMARY
The Laboratory Technician will prepare process and finished product samples, perform analytical testing using instrumental and wet chemistry procedures, and record results using computerized data systems. This position requires flexibility to work night shift and occasional coverage for day shifts, weekends, holidays, scheduled overtime, and emergency overtime as needed. The role involves daily process monitoring, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare process and finished product samples for testing.
- Perform analytical testing using instrumental and wet chemistry procedures.
- Record results using computerized data systems and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Conduct daily process monitoring tests throughout the plant.
- Maintain samples of tested products for confirmation if necessary.
- Document all testing procedures and promptly notify operations of required adjustments.
- Perform light maintenance and calibration on laboratory equipment.
- Maintain adequate supplies for testing and notify supervisor for reordering.
- Compare equipment readouts with standards to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and wash / store equipment properly.
- Adhere to FDA, GMP, BATF, EPA, OSHA, and company standards.
- Maintain effective working relationships and perform duties safely using approved safety equipment.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.Ability to work night shift (11 : 00 PM–7 : 30 AM) and flexible coverage for day shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.Good organizational skills, communication skills, and ability to work on multiple tasks.Demonstrated troubleshooting and accurate record-keeping skills.Attendance and punctuality.Preferred Qualifications
2 or more years of science degree.Previous plant experience.Excellent safety record and awareness.Experience with lab documentation and operating standard lab equipment (pH meter, balances, spectrophotometer).Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and commercial software applications.Sufficient math skills for lab calculations.Education : High School
