Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Product Engineer to drive the expansion of our product offerings within the high?reliability component sector. This critical role is responsible for researching, developing, and integrating new product lines into our advanced renewal and manufacturing systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interface directly with customer Product Engineering teams and our Business Development unit to facilitate the onboarding of new programs and technical integration.
  • Lead the technical preparation for new product launches, including the development of Bills of Materials (BOM), comprehensive engineering specifications, component complexity analysis, and supplier requirements.
  • Lead or provide high?level support to Program Management during the launch of new products and the implementation of engineering change orders (ECOs).
  • Conduct in?depth analysis of common failure modes in new products to establish component attrition rates and renewal feasibility.
  • Participate actively with Materials Management and Supplier Quality teams in supplier development activities.
  • Maintain and update critical documentation that guides internal resources in adapting to customer systems, including BOM revisions, change orders, and other external technical notifications.
  • Develop clear and effective presentations to illustrate technical progress and strategy to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate clear and effective communication in all aspects of work, ensuring key stakeholders are consistently informed and expectations are managed.

Key Qualifications

  • Proven experience successfully bringing complex, integrated products to market through external customer collaboration.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to influence technical teams, customers, and executive?level program outcomes.
  • Direct knowledge of the high?reliability automotive, commercial vehicle, or heavy equipment industry is a significant plus.
  • Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a Physical Science discipline.
  • 5+ years of proven experience integrating new, complex products is highly desirable.
  • A thorough technical understanding of the operational theory and component structure of automatic transmissions and internal combustion engines is required.
  • High level of analytical ability is necessary to solve problems that are unusual, complex, and difficult, often with limited standardization.
  • Must be proficient in project prioritization, accurate time and cost estimation, and the use of modern office and design software applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed manufacturing documents, prints, schematics, and repair manuals is required.
