Impact of the Role

Essential Functions

Prepares, analyzes, and reviews financial statements using accounting principles. Keeps records of account entries by compiling and analyzing accounting activities. Prepares reports such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other documents that project the organization's financial position. Reviews financial statements for completeness, accuracy, and compliance. Oversees accounting operations, or a complex segment of the accounting function. Coordinates accounting matters with other departments.

May also have responsibility for :

• Prepares periodic financial statements required for external reporting.
• Collects and analyzes financial data, ensuring that all reporting is in compliance with SEC and GAAP reporting guidelines.
• Prepares internal reports as required.
• Researches accounting rules and regulations and makes recommendations regarding company policy.
• May provide support and assistance to external auditors

Required Qualifications

Required education and experience : Associate's Degree and 8-10 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education & / or Experience. Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills : Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred education and experience : Bachelor's Degree. Discipline / Major : Finance or Accounting degree preferred. Additional certifications : CPA strongly preferred. Knowledge, skills & abilities : Oral and written communication skills. Account reconciliation. Balance sheet analysis. Bank reconciliation. Calculate depreciation. Financial accounting. Financial reporting. General ledger accounting. Month-end close. Quarter-end close. Revenue recognition. Spreadsheets. Year-end close. GAAP standards. Accounting software.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and / or computer for extended periods of time. Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety / health hazard potential.

Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and / or computer for extended periods of time.
