Position Summary

Performs electrical and electromechanical repairs. Assist with conducting system grooms and checkouts, and configuration validation. Prepare and install systems alterations. Involves heavy lifting, frequent stooping or bending and possible working assignments in overhead structures, confined spaces or beneath machinery. Strict adherence to safety, quality standards, good housekeeping habits, high level of critical thinking / reading comprehension, and frequent travel / overtime are required.

Duties And Responsibilities

\n

  • Requires limited supervision / oversight and is familiar with the trade qualifications and can perform most tasks required as an Electrician.

\n

  • Must be able to follow basic repair procedures and instructions to complete the production operations.
  • Perform basic installation, repair, overhaul or modification in place or in shop to electrical or electro mechanical systems and components (e.g.; controllers, switches, motors, etc.).

    \n

  • Assist in performing component and / or system troubleshooting to diagnose problems.
  • \n

  • Assist with the performance of on-site electrical service for system grooms and checkouts, minor repairs and system configuration validation.
  • \n

  • Prepare and install equipment or system alterations in accordance with the technical specifications.
  • \n

  • Assist with the conduct of shipboard work for electrical system / component evaluations.
  • \n

  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • \n \n

    Qualifications

    \n

  • High School / GED with Apprenticeship Diploma and additional vocational courses or technical school graduate; and / or military and / or civilian experience with marine electrical systems in a repair department or shipyard.
  • \n

  • Must have the ability to obtain government base access.
  • \n

  • Knowledge and practical skills tests required.
  • \n

  • Fiber Optic Splicing, Deep Submergence Systems (SOC MCD A, B, and C), SUBSAFE Qualification.
  • \n

  • Must be able to obtain a Secret / Confidential security clearance.
  • \n

  • Must be a U.S. citizen who is not a dual citizen of any other country.
  • \n \n
