PURPOSE

The Housekeeper ensures safe and clean living and working environments for the Islander Housing communities at Texas A&M- Corpus Christi.

We are seeking a Housekeeper whose responsibilities include, but are not limited to, cleaning designated areas assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor by performing the following duties : vacuuming carpet areas including resident rooms, hallways, and common areas;

mopping and cleaning tile areas including resident rooms and common areas; emptying trash in their designated area; and cleaning bathrooms including tub, shower, and toilet areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintaining the cleanliness of assigned building and rooms

• Performs the following duties : vacuuming carpet areas including resident rooms, hallways, and common areas; mopping and cleaning tile areas including resident rooms and common areas;
• emptying trash in their designated area; and cleaning bathrooms including tub, shower, and toilet areas. Seeks out areas requiring cleaning;

takes initiative to complete the task.

Adheres to established procedures to provide a safe working environment

Reports maintenance concerns via work order requests

Ordering / Restocking custodial supplies

Contributes to the team; exhibits professionalism with students, fellow employees and others.

Performs other related duties as requested and assigned

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

High School diploma or GED

Ability to maintain a valid driver's license

Ability to communicate with clear written and verbal messages

Ability to present a professional image

Knowledge of safety equipment usage (e.g. AED, fire extinguishers, etc.), proper cleaning methods, and safety measures essential to the work environment

Ability to work outdoors in temperature extremes, work with high noise levels, and must have the ability to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs.

WHAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO SEE

Previous professional cleaning, maintenance, or grounds experience is preferred

Previous housekeeping experience in residence life or college housing

SALARY : $12.00 / HOURLY.
