Salary :
A3 Technology, Inc. is seeking an experienced Network Operations Technical Manager to manage contractor technical support for a federal enterprise network environment. The Network Operations Technical Manager establishes governance, training, and knowledge management for the technical support team, recommends and implements improvements to systems, documentation, processes, and procedures, secures Government Stakeholder (GS) approvals for new or revised procedures, and ensures that all approved procedures are published and maintained in the Confluence Wiki.
This position is 100% onsite in Springfield, VA.
Responsibilities :
- Manage a team of ~80 Network Operations Center staff.
- Ensure that Contractor staff providing Technical Support are trained in the tools, processes, and procedures required to perform Technical Support activities outlined in the contract. Provide oversight and guidance to the team of technical professionals responsible for supporting Network infrastructure operations.
- Recommend changes and enhancements to systems, including documentation, processes, and procedures, as necessary, to improve overall Technical Support. Save approved procedures to the SOP repository in the Confluence Wiki.
- Translate business requirements into telecommunications (e.g., LAN, MAN, WAN, Voice and Video) requirements and orders.
- Provide in-depth operational analysis of the CBP Network and recommendations for IT alternatives in support of strategic modernization efforts. Lead and participate in the assessment and selection of the network performance and management tools / systems for existing and new network technologies and services.
- Manage network performance and end-to-end service quality for the CBP Network infrastructure. Review and analyze overall end-to-end network performance to maintain an acceptable level of network quality of service as per business objectives, predefined network Key Performance Indicators, and established SOPs.
- Provide support to end users, operations personnel, and Government program managers. Monitor and respond to hardware, software, and network problems. Conduct routine testing and analysis of all elements of the network facilities. Utilize software and hardware tools and identifies and diagnoses complex problems and factors affecting network performance. Troubleshoot network systems when necessary and improve the network. Provide and support tools enhancements. Perform software and security patching.
Skills Required :
Bachelors degree in related technical field such as Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Networking and Telecommunications.6+ years of senior level networking experience managing enterprise infrastructures in large complex enterprises (federal preferred).Technical knowledge of networking concepts, infrastructure, and equipment (e.g. routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers).Experience implementing and administering an enterprise-wide monitoring system for servers, networking devices, and applications.Experience managing large teams of technical staff. Experience managing Tiers 1 through 3 personnel. Proven ability to lead teams in a missioncritical, customerfacing operations environment.Experience with project management and security and compliance issues.Experience collaborating with Service Desk, NOC / WNOC, engineering, vendors, and security teams.Excellent written and verbal communication skills for senior stakeholder engagement.S. Citizenship and eligibility for required federal background clearance; ability to work onsite in secured facilities (Springfield, VA and other locations).Skills Preferred :
Experience working with a large organization (>35,000 customers).
Experience collaborating with peer and client teams.Experience supporting teams located at multiple sites.Certifications in ITIL v3, CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE.Additionally, US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US is a must. Upon receiving a conditional offer of employment, candidates will undergo a Government investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for Government clearance. Verification of past employment, education and references is also required. It is imperative that candidates be either a US citizen or a current green card holder with the last 3 consecutive years as a resident of the US.
The salary range for positions is $50,000 to $175,000. This range is provided as a general guideline and should not be interpreted as a guarantee of compensation. Actual salary offers will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific responsibilities of the position, the candidates education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. In addition, compensation may be influenced by applicable Federal Government contract labor categories and established contract wage rates.
