What Supply Chain Inventory / Purchasing contributes to Cardinal Health

Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.

The Supply Chain Inventory / Purchasing team is responsible for managing supplier relations at a tactical level by executing and expediting purchase orders. Supply Chain Inventory / Purchasing ensures the right quantity of products arrive in the right place, at the right time and cost. Assists in negotiating product and supply chain costs. Utilize terms and conditions of supplier contracts, work with internal customers to improve processes, and evaluate supplier performance that ultimately improves the supply chain.

Cardinal Health manages the pharmacy at Broadlawns Medical Center and we are currently looking for a Pharmacy Buyer to work a 40 hour a week schedule - 8 hour shifts, Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities

Procurement buying of medication for inpatient and outpatient pharmacy departments

In charge of ordering and oversight of 40 units

End of month reporting for re-calls and expired medications

Purchases inventory updating

Handles interdepartmental billing

Team coordinator for 340b compliance regarding drug purchasing

Handles account management for outside source drug managing

Lead on receiving patient assistance program drugs

Procurement of non-drug supplies

Participates in committee meetings as necessary

May require vendor credentialing

Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent preferred

Iowa state pharmacy technicians license required

National pharmacy technician certification (PTCB) preferred

Prior pharmacy buying / purchasing / ordering experience preferred

Prior experience in an inpatient environment preferred

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word / PowerPoint / Excel) preferred

Ability to use technology such as computers, smart phones and tablets

Excellent customer service skills required

Strong verbal and written communication skills required

May require vendor credentialing

Anticipated hourly range : $22.30 per hour - $33.60 per hour
