Quality Control Manager
Description
This Quality Control Manager position will work on-site at various project locations to cover for vacations, various short-term needs, or may be assigned to a longer-term project as the onsite Quality Control Manager.
When not assigned to a specific project, the Quality Control Manager may be assigned to assist the estimating department or the proposal department.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural) and good math and writing skills.
Must be able to travel up to 90% of the time and work on-site for an extended period of time. Experience on large DoD construction projects and current CQM certification expected.
In this position you will :
- Serve as Quality Control Manager floater, working on-site at various project locations short or long term
- Take appropriate action to ensure that work is performed in accordance with ECC Quality Control Program, the design, the contract specifications, pertinent building codes & practices as well as national and local standards
- Manage effort to close out the project in a timely manner
- Initiate stop work or re-work in coordination with the project team in circumstances where nonconformance to prescribed work methodologies occurs
- Ensure implementation, documentation, and close-out of corrective actions
- Author and log Requests for Information (RFIs)
- Author quality related documentation (reports, logs, and records), completing required information for daily reports and client communications in a timely and accurate manner
- Process submittals to ensure that they meet the contract and project requirements and are submitted to the client as required and in a timely matter.
- Inspect and document the receipt of all materials to ensure compliance with contract documents
- Ensure the appropriate and required testing program is implemented; evaluate, review, monitor and document results
- Facilitate QC meetings and document minutes
- Ensure implementation of the Three-Phase Control Process in accordance with Company standards and contract requirements
- Work to actively promote and support the safety program with subcontractors and project team members on a daily basis
- In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position.
Requirements
- The ability to communicate in written and oral formats with diplomacy and tact
- An aptitude for exercising independent thinking and reasoning
- Demonstrated success in teaching others quality concepts and requirements
- Successful leadership of subcontractors and project teams in support of quality endeavors
- Good math and writing skills
- Five years of work experience in a position directly related to quality control on large construction projects
- Must be able to travel up to 90% of the time and work on-site for an extended period of time
- Experience on large DoD construction projects
- Current CQM certification
- Education : Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural)
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Occupational Safety and Health or related field
- Familiarity with workplace health and safety concepts
- Applicable Certification in Quality
- Proven ability to use USACE Resident Management System (RMS)
- OSHA 30 Hour Construction Certification
- ACI Certification
- American Concrete Institute (ACI) certification (any level)
- United States Army Corps of Engineers
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensee or demonstrates a knowledge level
- successful completion of USACE / NAVFAC Construction Quality Management for Contractors course
ECC targeted US base salary range is $90,835 to $130,976 annually.
Actual salary offered may be affected by education, training, certifications, experience, skills, level of responsibility, and location.
