Van Andel Institute’s Maintenance Department is seeking to hire a full-time HVAC Technician III . The Mission of the Facilities Department is to create and maintain a Best in Class facility that exceeds customer expectations.
This is accomplished by providing a clean, comfortable, functional working environment where employees can achieve their professional goals and focus on the work at hand.
AS A HVAC TECHNICIAN YOU WILL :
Be responsible for performing corrective and preventative maintenance activities, troubleshooting, and repairs of various VAI facilities, electrical systems, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment, direct digital controls, building support systems and lab equipment to maintain the uninterrupted operation of the Institute’s facilities.
Complete facility work requests including intra-Institute moves (office and laboratory configurations), utility hook-ups, and special event set-ups in the auditorium and public areas, as needed.
DESCRIPTION OF THE IDEAL HVAC TECHNICIAN :
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum Qualifications : Vocational or Technical Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC / R) certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC / R and building controls OR 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC / R and building controls or related field.
- LIC-Driver's License - STATE MI State of Michigan - required
- CRT-Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling Certification required
- Possess strong verbal and communication skills
POSITION STATUS AND SALARY
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The hourly rate for this position will be commensurate with relevant work experience and other qualifications.
