Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Assembler to join our dynamic team at Santec California. Located in a collaborative workspace, this role is essential in assembling high-quality optical testing equipment. Your contributions will directly impact our mission to deliver exceptional products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Performs mechanical and precision mechanical / optical assembly
  • Reads and interprets schematic drawings, diagrams, specifications and manufacturing orders to determine component requirements and assembly instructions
  • Inspects all parts for cleanliness and conformance to quality standards
  • Identifies, reports, and repairs nonconforming items
  • Cleans, assembles, disassembles, and replaces parts as required
  • Operates drill press and hand tools to aid in assembly
  • Receives parts for each assembly from stock room
  • Sends assembled products to test or to quality assurance for final inspection
  • Keeps manufacturing supervisor advised of work status, workload, problems and progress as related to work assignments
  • Updates production progress and records time using inventory management software for each process of assembly
  • Uses chemicals, adhesives, solvents, lubricants, epoxies, paints and inks, as required
  • Keeps manufacturing department clean and free of foreign object damage

Requirements

  • Proven experience in mechanical assembly or a related field.
  • Strong skills in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to read and understand bill of materials (BoM), work instructions and manufacturing orders
  • Basic knowledge of machining processes is but not required.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality assurance.
  • PC familiarity with Windows, Email, Excel
  • Ability to work as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment
