The Director - Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance manages the Quality Audit, Regulatory Standards and Fuel Technical teams within Technical Operations. Accountable for the identification, monitoring and reporting of critical Quality and Regulatory program objectives to the Managing Director CASS (Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System) for dissemination to the CASS Review Board and FAA leadership. Responsible for conducting system / process evaluations within Technical Operations, external suppliers, and the United Repair Station to measure the performance of United's inspection program including maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations.
The Quality Assurance function and its basic requirements are mandated by 14 CFR 121.373. This role is considered a critical safety function within an Air Carrier's Safety Management System (SMS) and one that must be supported by a clearly identified leadership position accountable for that function. The nature of this role is steeped in regulation and highly detailed guidance and standards but one that merits consideration of how improved access to information and data analytics can help identify risk, focus resources, and yield more consistent, durable, and sustainable outcomes.
Directs the Quality Audit, Regulatory Standards and Fuel Technical team within Technical Operations.
Accountable for the identification, monitoring and reporting of critical quality and regulatory program objectives to the Managing Director CASS for dissemination to the CASS Review Board and FAA leadership.
Conducts system / process evaluations within Technical Operations, external suppliers, and the United Repair Station to measure the performance of United's inspection program including maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations.
Validates compliance with regulatory and industry standards, assures corrective actions for noncompliance, and identifies opportunities to improve organizational policies, procedures, and processes.
Oversees monitoring, incorporation and validation of Airworthiness Directive and other rulemaking activity.
Maintains oversight and administration of the Fuel Technical Program including the associated user manual.
Responsible for numerous sections of the General Maintenance Manual (GMM) and has oversight responsibility for remaining Technical Operations policy and procedures.

The base pay range for this role is $155,895.00 to $202,960.00. The base salary range / hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and / or long-term incentive compensation awards.
