About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience :

Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in BMT or hematology / oncology required.

First-time travelers accepted if they have required experience.

License :

Current RN License required.

Certifications : AHA BLS required.

ONC certification preferred.

Must-Have :

Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs and float between similar units.

Description :

The Registered Nurse will provide care for patients with blood cancers receiving chemotherapy, biotherapies, and cellular therapies such as stem cell transplants and CAR-T.

This unit currently has 36 beds and is expanding to 51 beds.

The nurse will be responsible for managing acute tumor lysis syndrome, administering blood and blood products, and overseeing chemotherapy administration.

The role requires monitoring for adverse effects such as nausea, vomiting, or signs of sepsis.

Nurses will care for patients with complications including graft-versus-host disease and manage abnormal lab values.

The nurse-to-patient ratio will range from 3 : 1 to 4 : 1.

The position involves providing care to patients with altered mental status, managing central lines, and ensuring patients are on neutropenic precautions as needed.

All nurses must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality care.

Weekend coverage is required based on unit needs.
