Head Instructor - Contractor School

The Exam Pros is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Head Instructor to lead our Contractor School Exam Prep program. This role requires someone with experience in the construction industry, a strong ability to teach contractor exam preparation, and a commitment to helping students succeed. As the Head Instructor, you will collaborate with other instructors, update and develop course materials, and directly support students through various teaching methods.

This is a full-time position (40+ hours per week), with the opportunity for overtime. Evening and weekend availability is essential to accommodate student needs.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction and Tutoring

• Teach contractor exam preparation courses, up to 8 four-hour classes per month, including 3-4 evening or weekend classes (flexible scheduling available).
• Provide private tutoring to students via in-person sessions, phone, or Zoom.
• Teach math calculations and provide clear, practical examples.

Course Development and Maintenance

• Collaborate with the other Instructors and staff to update existing course materials, including highlights, tab locations, and wording.
• Revise and enhance existing practice questions and answers to ensure accuracy and relevance.
• Develop new courses as they become available.

Student Support and Program Oversight

• Monitor and assist with Continuing Education classes to ensure compliance and quality.
• Provide constructive feedback and answer student questions to support their learning.
• Actively engage with students to foster a supportive and effective learning environment.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education and Licensing: Hold a current, active, or inactive Contractor’s License (required).
• Experience: Previous teaching or training experience preferred, particularly in exam preparation or adult education. Strong understanding of contractor exam content and requirements.
• Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to teach math calculations and explain complex concepts clearly. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Proficient in using virtual teaching tools such as Zoom.
• Other Qualifications: Bilingual proficiency is a plus. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
