Job description

Merchandising Sales Specialist

Join our Field Activity Support Team (FAST) as a vital team member responsible for visiting various stores within an assigned district. In this role, you will own and execute essential tasks from start to finish, such as implementing planograms, assembling merchandise and fixtures, and maintaining signage. You will also have the opportunity to interact with customers and fellow team members, all while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain reliable attendance and be available to work varied hours based on business needs.
  • Effectively communicate with the District FAST Supervisor on work status and challenges.
  • Accurately complete planograms and resets in a timely manner.
  • Uphold visual merchandising standards.
  • Perform specific store measurements and layout initiatives.
  • Conduct accurate cycle counts and complete store signage tasks.
  • Assemble merchandise and display fixtures as needed.
  • Deliver legendary customer service by following these steps :

Greet the Customer.

  • Uncover the Customer's Needs & Wants.
  • Recommend Product Solutions.
  • Appreciate the Customer.
  • Ensure customers have a shopping experience that sets us apart from competitors.
  • Assist in peak coverage during busy times, such as the day after Thanksgiving.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by your supervisor.

    • Required Qualifications

    Experience : Previous retail or merchandising experience is required. Familiarity with farming, ranching, pet / equine, or welding is a plus. You must be at least 18 years of age and hold a valid driver’s license.

    Education : A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory. Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic is essential.

    Preferred Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities

  • Knowledge of farming, ranching, pet / equine, or welding is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to resolve issues effectively.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work independently.

    • Working Conditions

  • Primarily work indoors with moderate noise levels.
  • Shifts vary, typically lasting 4 to 8 hours or more.
  • Travel between store locations in your own vehicle is required, often incurring long durations in transit.
  • Promote a safe and productive work environment in adherence to company safety guidelines.

    • Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel as required and support district needs.
  • Ability to push and pull merchandise weighing up to 2,000 pounds utilizing appropriate equipment.
  • Capability to occasionally lift items overhead and frequently perform tasks that involve various physical movements such as bending, kneeling, and climbing.
  • Ability to access all areas of the store safely.
  • Must effectively operate store equipment and handle paperwork accurately.
  • Comfort with handling birds / poultry is required.
  • Ability to complete necessary training courses successfully.
