GPIis seeking a full-time Assistant Designer for our growing Urban Transportation & Design Team. We are seeking an individual who is eager to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers in a dynamic office environment on engaging and challenging projects. Projects with our Urban Mobility & Design Team involve varying types of roadway and intersection designs with a focus on multi-modal urban complete street projects, including providing accommodations for pedestrians, cyclists, transit users, motorists, and meeting accessibility requirements. What You'll Be Doing (Responsibilities) :
Prepare construction plans, specifications, and estimates for transportation projects for public agencies and municipalities, with a focus on multi-modal designs and safety & accessibility improvementsAssist in roadway design including roadway alignments, including Civil 3D Corridor modeling, horizontal and vertical alignments, cross-sections, grading, drainage design, and utility relocationsUtilize construction understanding to develop temporary traffic control and construction staging plans
What You Bring to the Table (Qualifications) :
BS in Civil EngineeringEIT certification a plusProficiency using Autodesk Civil 3D softwareExperience with New England public agency clients, particularly MassDOT and City of Boston
