Continuing their mission to work as a comprehensive team with families, school districts and communities, the Preschool for All Program is seeking talented individuals for the position of Assistant Teacher.
This is a full-time, term, non-tenure-track faculty appointments at the rank of Assistant Instructor or Assistant Lecturer.

Examples of Duties
The Preschool for All Assistant Teacher, Lead Teacher and Parent Educator work together as a team. The Assistant Teacher works in partnership with the Lead Teacher and Parent Educator to recruit, screen and enroll children in the program and provide parent workshops, kindergarten transitions, and Child Find activities.
The Assistant Teacher collaborates with the Lead Teacher to provide classroom management, guidance, and facilitation of learning that is developmentally appropriate for each child, maintain a system of planning, activity and project implementation, and performance assessment reflective of the development of the children through ongoing interactions, observations, and collection of portfolio information, works in collaboration with school district personnel and outside agencies, and performs other duties as needed and assigned.
This position requires interaction with preschool children and travel to the work site and other off-campus locations.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor degree (for appointment at rank or Assistant Instructor) with preschool and / or kindergarten experience. For individuals holding a Master's degree, appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Lecturer.
Preferred Qualifications : * Professional Educator License with an endorsement in Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood Special Education
- Bilingual endorsement
- Ability to speak and write Spanish
- Knowledge of Creative Curriculum and the Early Learning Scale
- Evidence of contributions to professional at the local, state, and national levels
- Knowledge of DCFS licensing regulations and awareness of working with early childhood interns and practicum students are preferred
