The Opportunity
- Function as a technical specialist or lead substation design role encompassing EHV transmission level voltage class.
- Under general direction, develops and applies advanced engineering techniques to complex problems.
- Provide technical guidance over a group or supervise engineering staff on substation design projects.
- Responsible for developing, validating, and presenting specialist / technical output.
- Lead other engineers and interface directly with clients.
- Ensure overall execution and quality of substation projects as a leader within a team environment.

Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an accredited program.Minimum 8 years related work experience.Pre-employment requirements may include background checks, drug screen, and motor vehicle records as applicable by law.Preferred Qualifications
Power / Power Systems experience preferredQuality Assurance / Quality Control of EHV substation design projectsEHV Substation design experience (physical & P&C)Technical experience and complex engineering calculations for substation projectsPrepare and review one-lines, diagrams, panels, relaying schematics, grounding, and conduit plansExperience with 500 kV to 13.8 kV substations, open-air and GISBudget, schedule, and quality management; leadership of engineersKey Responsibilities
Develop and maintain budgets and schedules for multiple substation design projectsPerform EHV substation design with an emphasis on continuous improvementDevelop scoping documents for EHV substation projectsProvide technical guidance on design guides, standards, and policiesAssist in developing and updating engineering standardsProvide technical guidance to others and oversee project workIndependently apply knowledge to comply with quality programs and perform QA reviewsPrepare complex engineering deliverables and lead data management for projectsCoordinate with internal / external teams and manage project resource planningInterface directly with clients, vendors, and subcontractorsMentor less experienced engineers and potentially supervise othersWork Environment
