Job Duties and Responsibilities
Sets example through professional, friendly attitude towards clients and associates, timely response to clients and associates and observance of sales office standardsCoordinates conference rooms and event spaces and coordinates services for groups and organizations holding meetings, conventions and other events at the hotelOrganize banquet or catering services, reserve audio-visual equipment and plan any changes to the configuration of the event spaceMeet with representatives of groups and organizations to discuss what they have in mind for their meeting or special eventSign contractual agreements and keep records of all communications in writingMeet with the heads of other departments in the hotel to coordinate any planned eventsMonitor events and address unexpected problems as they arise to make sure that the functions go as plannedProvide pricing and guidance recommendations to clients with approval by the Director of F&B or Chef as neededDrive customer loyalty to grow share of the account by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experienceConducts tours of the hotel and banquet facilities; entertains qualified potential clients in accordance with company and property policies and proceduresExecutes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (generating resumes, BEO's, and customer correspondence)Work with sales managers to ensure understanding of sales strategy and effective implementation of the strategies for each segment to help upsell and maintain client loyaltyPerform any other job-related duties as assignedEducation and Experience
Minimum of High School education, post-high school education preferredMinimum of 3 years in progressive hotel sales with leadership responsibilitiesKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong analytical skills relative to impact on hotel revenuesAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writingStrong understanding of revenue management principlesAbility to use reservation and revenue management systems to develop pricing and sales recommendationsMust have flexible work hours that may include evenings, weekends, and holidaysComprehensive knowledge of technical and managerial applications of Outlook, PMS, CRES, Microsoft Office and all other appropriate PC applicationsProven call quality scoresMust have the ability to provide constructive feedback and coach agents on proper selling techniques as requiredMust have effective listening skillsMust be able to clearly communicate ideas and information using both verbal and written channelsAnalytical approach to problem solvingAbility to manage time well and be flexibleAbility to work nights, overnights, and weekendsThe hiring process may consist of a phone interview, manager(s) interview, drug screen, background check, reference checks, and potential employment assessment.
