Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State or eligibility to obtain (New York RN jobs)

Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room RN experience required

Clinical expertise in cardiac, neuro, thoracic, orthopedic, and vascular surgeries

Ability to participate in cardiac call rotation (one weekend per month and once per week)

BLS certification (Basic Life Support) required

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Travel nurses and out-of-area candidates are encouraged to apply

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

Provide high-quality patient care in the operating room, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes

Assist surgeons and surgical teams during complex procedures

Monitor patient status and respond to intraoperative changes

Maintain sterile technique and follow infection control protocols

Participate in scheduled cardiac call rotation as required

Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams for comprehensive clinical support
