Responsibilities Work in an acute care setting within the Med / Surg Float Pool Care for both surgical and medical patients, including those with total joints, fractures, bariatric, urology, CHF, CVA, SOB, and diabetic issues Unit includes 61 combined beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1 : 5 on days and 1 : 6 on nights Shift is 12 hours, nights, with every other weekend required Every other holiday coverage required Floating to other units is required, first to float as a traveler Uses Epic EMR for charting Monitor techs read telemetry strips with RN confirmation CPAP, BiPap, and high-flow oxygen equipment used on unit No drip titration required Assist a diverse patient population with common med / surg conditions and post-operative care Collaboration with monitor techs for telemetry monitoring; RNs confirm readings 12 hours of unit-specific orientation and float pool checklist provided Any scrub color is acceptable Must cover every other holiday as scheduled Candidates may not have been employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity in the last year; PRN through outside agencies is allowed First to float policy applies to travelers Requirements Active ND or compact RN license at the time of consideration; pending licenses will not be accepted Minimum 2 years recent Med / Surg RN experience required Current BLS certification required Experience with EPIC EMR preferred Able to provide 2 professional references : one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility Copy of Driver’s License required at time of consideration Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-628630.
