Accounting Manager
About the Role
A growing manufacturing company is seeking a hands-on
Accounting Manager
to oversee daily accounting operations, lead the month-end close, and manage a small accounting team. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, manufacturing industry experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the
month-end and year-end close
processes.
Oversee
general ledger , journal entries, and account reconciliations.
Manage
Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll
functions.
Prepare and analyze
financial statements , ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
Support and improve
cost accounting , inventory accounting, and manufacturing-related reporting.
Maintain and review
standard costs, BOMs, labor / overhead allocations, and variance analysis .
Assist in annual
budgeting and forecasting , providing financial insights to management.
Strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, and operational efficiency.
Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
Coordinate with external auditors and support audit preparation.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
required (CPA / MBA a plus).
5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience .
Manufacturing accounting experience required
Strong understanding of
GAAP , standard costing, and manufacturing workflows.
Experience with
ERP systems
(SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Infor, Epicor, or similar).
Advanced
Excel
skills (pivot tables, lookup formulas, data analysis).
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
